About Me

I grew up with the wonderful aroma of Mexican Food cooking in my grama's kitchen. There was always a pot of something on the stove. Whenever someone visited, my grama insisted they not leave her house without eating. It was almost an insult if you didn't have something to eat and drink. I have many wonderful memories of my mom and aunts sitting around the kitchen table eating and telling stories of days gone by. Maybe that's why I love to cook for my family and friends. I especially love when I see the joy in their faces when they eat something that I've made. I cook best when I can just throw things together and not worry about following a recipe. My problem is that I create a dish and many times can't duplicate it since there was no recipe to being with. I regret not paying more attention to my grama's cooking when I was growing up. Sadly she passed away and took many of her recipes with her. My hope is that I can continue her traditions and try to duplicate her recipes from taste and memory.
